Free SERU practice test
New and renewing London private hire drivers must pass TfL's Safety, Equality and Regulatory Understanding (SERU) assessment, unless they have already passed on the current handbook. TfL says it's computer-based, uses multiple-choice questions and completing sentences with missing words, and is based on the PHV Driver's Handbook. It costs £40 (£30 for a re-sit). TfL publishes the handbook and a free online assessment guide — use them alongside the original practice questions below.
